B&N: nearly 75 percent of Nook Color owners are women, Samsung zeros in on female market
Barnes & Noble says that nearly 75 percent of Nook Color owners are women, and the company is eager to share that number in dealings with developers, according to an article from VentureBeat. B&N is not the only company trying to grab a piece of the female market, and Samsung is hopping on the bandwagon with its female-targeted Galaxy Note. As T3 gathered from Samsung spokesperson Andrew Glass, Sammy thinks the Note is "a merger between smartphones and tablets," and that the ability to put a large phone into a purse (instead of a tablet) is something that would "capture the female market."
But however Samsung wants to spin it, targeted marketing of the phone hasn't come at the expense of specs — the Galaxy Note will sport a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and a 1280 x 800 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display (one of the best displays we've seen). So who knows, maybe women just like things that are awesome? Let us know in the comments.
