Looking for Google Voice in the iTunes App Store? Your search will come up empty for the time being. That's because the folks in Mountain View voluntarily removed their popular app after discovering a nasty iOS 5-related bug that caused the application to crash during login. Despite the lengthy beta period Apple's new mobile OS underwent, apparently Google didn't have quite enough time to have a revised version up and ready for the flood of new iPhone 4S owners over the weekend. Senior Product Manager Vincent Paquet acknowledged the problem, explaining that the company removed Google Voice to prevent the issue from affecting new users. There's currently no word as to when the situation will be resolved, though we're hoping a fix comes quickly. Fortunately, the rather decent HTML5 web portal is still around to tide us over until the full app makes a comeback.
