Apple TV version 4.4 brings new features, bugfixes in 4.4.1 and 4.4.2
Apple updated the Apple TV to version 4.4 to go with the rollout of iOS 5, only to find it wasn't working perfectly. The first version of 4.4.1 caused even bigger problems, but 4.4.2 now looks to put things back on track.

The Apple TV has been down a rocky update road the last two weeks, with problems surrounding the 4.4 update prompting a bugfix that itself was pulled and re-released after bricking devices. Now Apple's revealed both updates also have issues updating themselves to newer versions of the software, and has released 4.4.2 to (hopefully) right all wrongs. When Apple TV was updated last week to version 4.4, it brought a lot of new features, but some users were unexpectedly being asked to connect to iTunes in order to update.
