Bloomberg's new iPad app offers free 24-hour streaming to all
Bucking the trend of its rivals such as CNN and News Corp, business-centric newscaster Bloomberg has released a new free iPad app. Called Bloomberg TV+, it's being offered alongside the other popular apps from the news giant, giving access to its live stream, news stories, content from the last 24 hours, and specific mobile footage. This will come as great news to readers who have gotten used to using Bloomberg in their browser, where the agency's Flash videos offer the familiar "This video is not encoded to play back on this device" message.
Other features include the ability to download videos to watch later, set reminders so you don't miss shows, and customise your own stock ticker. The app is available worldwide via the App Store, and it'll be interesting to see whether it causes other agencies to rethink their current premium strategies.
