Samsung Series 7 all-in-ones announced, start at $999
We don't see a truly novel take on the all-in-one form factor very often, but Samsung's Series 7 surprises with some innovative design: The svelte desktops boast clean lines, expensive looks, and pricing that competes well with the iMac. Two configurations will be available -- a $999 Core i3 at 2.6GHz with 6GB memory, and a $1,199 Core i5 at 2.7GHz with 8GB memory. Both models will also sport a 23" LED display with 1080p resolution and two-finger gesture support, a 1TB 7,200RPM hard drive, 1.3 megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 3.0, dual 8W stereo speakers, and a wireless keyboard and mouse. Samsung also boasts that the Series 7's 16mm-thin display will fold down completely, allowing tablet-like use (though you won't see us pulling one out for casual reading in the subway). Additionally, with both models using Intel integrated graphics, you'll be restricted mostly to bird-flinging games. You can expect the desktops to arrive October 10, but note that the lower-spec model will be exclusive to Best Buy.
