Tamarkin Camera auction closes: Hemingway's Leica yields $25k, 'Leica Gun' $100k
Tamarkin Camera — the Connecticut-based Leica specialist — held its fall auction today. Leica connoisseurs shouldn't miss the listings, but camera lovers of all kinds will love several of the items, including an unusual "Leica Gun" made for high-speed photography during the 1936 Berlin Olympics which commanded an astounding $100,000. Looking for something a little more affordable? A Leica IIIf gifted by Ernest Hemingway to fellow novelist Edison Marshall brought in $25,000.
Thanks, Bruce!
