HP and Dell prepping ultrabooks
Take a look at the companies launching ultrabooks before the end of the year and you'll notice that two of the biggest PC manufacturers are noticeably absent -- Dell and HP. However, according to Digitimes, the two are just taking some extra time to get things right. The Taiwanese news outlet's reporting that HP has employed Quanta to build its offering, which will be released before the end of the year. Dell's 14-inch model, on the other hand, is being built by Wistron and won't be released until early 2012 at CES. That all seems very plausible since we'd imagine the two players would want in on the ultrathin laptop space being pushed so hard by Intel, but we'll be keeping our ears to the ground for more.
