Report: Sony Pictures acquires rights to Jobs biopic based on Isaacson biography
Deadline New York is reporting that Sony Pictures has acquired the rights to a Steve Jobs biopic based on Walter Isaacson's forthcoming authorized biography of the CEO of Apple.
The book, which is based on more than fifty personal interviews between Steve Jobs and Isaacson over several years was originally set to be published in early 2012, then moved to November of 2011. The nearly 500 page book was moved up again the day after Jobs' death on October 5th, and is now set to be published on October 24th by Simon & Schuster.
While Sony Pictures would not comment, Deadline New York also reports that Mark Gordon will produce the film, which will be made by the same studio which is responsible for Moneyball and The Social Network.
