Markdown as a Formatting Option for Comments and the Forum
First off, I just wanted to say that the site is absolutely amazing… "magical", even.
What is everyone's opinion on adding (any form of) the venerable Markdown as an additional formatting syntax for comments and the forum? Personally, I find using even The Verge's extremely simple online WYSIWYG editor to be a bit cumbersome, and the existing option to write in HTML (at least in my opinion) doesn't solve that problem one bit. Providing a third "in-between" option with Markdown would be the easiest, fastest way to solve this problem IMHO.
Let's put The Verge on the verge of web writing syntaxes (sorry, I couldn't resist myself).
