Eminent Doom of the BlackBerry?
For the longest time I wanted to get and use a BlackBerry phone, but lack of money usually kept me just out of reach of getting one. BlackBerry was at it's height during this time in my life, but life has a way of changing. Now I can afford a BlackBerry, picked up a BB Style earlier this year and happy that I did. I love it, and I actually love the BB OS and it's Interface. I could go on and on about what I like, but that isn't the point.
When I made my choice to pick up my BB, I had also intended at a later date to pick up a Playbook as well. I wanted my phone and tablet to be able to interconnect with each other. A BB and the Playbook play nice enough with each other, but I'm still miffed that there is no native email app on the Playbook yet. Now I just generally have concerns with RIM itself and my worry about the Playbook and it's lack of a native email app seems petty.
With RIM stocks taking hits over time, the lackluster outcome of the Playbook and RIM's seeming inability to keep with the times, I'm unsure now what direction to take as a consumer. I'm worried that if I invest in a PB, that both my BB and the PB will be useless items next year. I'm worried that RIM will not recover from it's decline. I can read and read all the media hub bub and statistics, but even after researching all of this, I can't tell if RIM is doomed or not... I'm not a mind reader or a tech forecaster, so I'm hoping someone else can elaborate on this for me. Is RIM doomed?
I know, it's like asking if iPhone is doomed in an Apple forum, but BB users aren't ummm, well, uhhh, Apple users and let's just leave it at that to save me from getting eaten alive from any Apple fans trolling about. Being BB users, most of you are likely more in-tuned to the waves in the technology market and I'm hoping to get some educated opinions and not emotional opinions.
