We first saw the Toshiba Portege Z830 way back in September at IFA, where we rather liked the super-light ultrabook with a full complement of ports, and after hitting the UK it's finally going on sale in the US — and Best Buy will carry an exclusive Z835 variant for just $899. The Z835 will feature a 1.4GHz Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, and a backlit keyboard, but Toshiba will also sell higher-powered Z830s through other channels, including a $1,199 version with a Core i5 and a $1,429 model with a Core i7. You'll also be able to configure your own, of course.

We'll have a full review of the Z835 posted shortly, so just hold tight — we'll see if Toshiba's little wonder can put some pricing pressure on Apple and the MacBook Air.
