Anyone want to participate in some charity?
So who here knows about Movember?
The official line about the campaign is as follows;
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in Canada and around the world. With their "Mo’s", these men raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer.
On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words, they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
Against my own vanity (and general problems with facial hair) I have taken up the cause of Movember with the support of my co-workers, friends, family and my girlfriend; who irritatingly likes my new "lip sweater." Now, I am looking for your support as well.
I know the best way to spread awareness and hopefully raise donations is to hit the largest audiences possible. However,I believe quality is better than quantity and that is why I am posting here first. The Verge forums may not be the largest network on the internet (for now) but I do know that we are all a bunch of amazing, beautiful, intelligent and thoughtful individuals. My moustache may be weak but my love for the cause is strong. I promise you weekly photo updates to my MoSpace, each one more oddly embarrassing than the next. I also promise to keep you informed of my moustache growth (and other amazing character limited rants) through my personal twitter AND I will write you a poem if you donate based on any them you choose.
Movember is for a full 30 days and I plan on making the best of it! for the first time in my life, I will have a moustache on my birthday (November 29th). Please feel free to donate whatever and whenever you can throughout the month of November. I understand that times are tough practically everywhere in the world but any amount is appreciated.
Thank you all very much for your time and support. Even if you choose not to donate - feel free to comment on my terrible, terrible moustache.
