Bay Area Gap stores now accepting Google Wallet
Google is partnering with the Gap for another major retail push of Google Wallet, adding to its growing list of vendors that already includes OfficeMax and Jamba Juice, among others. As of today, Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic stores in the San Francisco Bay Area (65 in all) can accept payment from NFC-equipped and Google-blessed devices. As an added bonus — and clear Google Offers tie-in — those who checkout using the service will save 15% off their entire order through February. Of course, this represents an extremely limited rollout, but hopefully as the number of Wallet-enabled devices increases, the number of Wallet-ready retailers will rise along with it.
