Chromebooks - 10% of PC sales next year
PC director at Dixons Retail plc, Mark Slater, made a bold claim that Chromebooks are to account for 1 in 10 computer sales for the store next year - the Telegraph reports today. Dixons Group control the UK's largest electronics retailers; Curry's and PC World.
Joanna reported earlier this week that Google has polished the Chrome OS and dropped prices in time for Christmas. In the UK it appears the price drop is from £349 to £299 for the WiFi only Samsung Model and £399 to £249 for the 3G model. Previously just Amazon and PC World (Dixons) were selling these devices, now department store John Lewis has them for sale and at the new reduced price.
With a reduced price for this 'tablet with a keyboard', could 2012 really be a good year for the Chromebook?
