As if the new Facebook Ticker wasn't already overloaded enough, it'll now display Sponsored Stories in addition to everything your friends are up to. Facebook confirmed this new addition to Mashable, saying that "Sponsored Stories are an extension of News Feed, so we think it's natural that they appear in Ticker." While this isn't dissimilar to sponsored posts showing up in Twitter users' timelines, it certainly could put a strain on the usability of the Ticker, a feature that was met with the usual resistance from users when it was introduced back in September. On the other hand, if users are ignoring it already, throwing some ad-driven content in there shouldn't dramatically alter the Facebook experience.
