Kindle Fire software update version 6.2 available to download
Kindle Fire software update version 6.2 is available now to download. This is the second update to the original 6.0 release. What's odd here, is that Amazon's 6.2 update page looks almost identical to the 6.1 update page it replaces. The only addition appears to be vaguely general text promising "improvements to the operation of your Kindle Fire." Regardless, any performance improvements are welcomed. We've reached out to Amazon for details and will update the post with any additional information provided.
Kindle Fire owners can update by tapping the Quick Settings icon and hitting Sync. The update will download in the background and automatically install. Rooters will lose superuser access to their device but Liliputing is reporting that it can be easily reapplied with SuperOneClick. Hit the source links for more information.
