ASUS has yet to give final word on when its Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be available, beyond saying that it will be on shelves sometime in December. Well, December is ever-nearing, and today, Netbook News is reporting that the quad-core Tegra 3 tablet will be available on December 1st in Taiwan, and make its American debut on December 8th. The news comes directly from an ASUS rep in Taiwan, so the dates are undoubtedly sound. The 10.1-inch tablet, which is already available for pre-order at several retailers nationwide, will cost $499 and will ship with Android 3.2. An update to Google's newest OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, has been promised for the end of the year. When contacted for confirmation of the dates, an ASUS representative had no comment.
