Kindle Fire apps: Netflix, Facebook, and Rhapsody all coming next week, among others
Because Amazon's Kindle Fire will be using the Amazon Appstore as its primary app marketplace — not the ubiquitous Android Market — that means Amazon has had to do some footwork ahead of the device's release next week to secure some important app deals. Well, they've done exactly that, announcing today that Netflix and Facebook will headline a cast of "several thousand" apps and games available for the Fire at launch, all of which have been tested by the company specifically for Fire compatibility. It's unclear whether that means all of these apps will actually look good on the Fire's 7-inch display or if many of them will simply be scaled-up phone apps, but with the launch coming next Tuesday, we don't have long to wait to find out.
