Lenovo U300s now available for web buyers, already backordered
Lenovo has put its IdeaPad U300s ultrabook up for preorders on its website, and though initial orders received a shipment date of December 19th, those who buy now will suffer through a wait exceeding four weeks. Or at least that's the case if you're going through Lenovo itself; the only model currently available on its site is the premium $1,499 Core i7-powered configuration with a gray finish, meaning both price-minded shoppers and anyone hankering for the eye-catching orange exterior will need to hold off for now. That said, these slender systems are in the process of arriving at other retailers, including Best Buy, so your local brick and mortar stores may soon offer a wider selection.
But before you head out the door in search of one, we'd suggest taking another look at our review and making sure you can live without a backlit keyboard and SD card slot. If not, there are plenty of alternatives in what is proving to be a fiercely competitive market.
