Google's somewhat poorly-received Gmail app for iOS has gotten a modest update today with a number of pedestrian (but important) improvements like custom signature support, nested labels, and a new notification sound that the company says will help users better distinguish when they've got an email rolling in. The neatest feature, though, would have to be the inclusion of scribbles — you can open a blank canvas, draw with a handful of simple tools, and attach the image to your outgoing email.

Still missing are some big items like multiple account support and more thorough notification integration, but the Gmail team says that it's "continuing to work" on those. The download should be available now.
