Apple and Samsung may be embroiled in a long, wide-ranging lawsuit regarding whether or not Samsung ripped off the entire design of Apple's tablets, but evidently there's a silver lining — it's brought the words "Galaxy Tab" to a lot of people's attention. Samsung VP Tyler McGee went so far as to say that "the media awareness certainly made the Galaxy Tab 10.1 a household name," and that Samsung couldn't have equalled the coverage with a more traditional marketing strategy. The Galaxy Tab is currently up for pre-order in Australia, one of the more heavily contested regions in the lawsuit, and Samsung says it's expected to sell extremely well (though not as well as the iPad). We're not sure a high-profile lawsuit is the best way to market your devices, but it looks like there might be some truth to the old adage — there's no such thing as bad press.
