This phone has very little lacking. It has a beautiful design, an incredibly sharp screen, and some great cameras. It runs iOS5 (and iOS4 at launch), and with that comes the best ecosystem available on any portable device with all of the iTunes media content and more apps than you can ever use. Its fit and finish is rivaled only by Windows Mobile, and while it may lack features others consider essential (side-loading capabilities and customization as with Android), it still feels like a very personal device.

Battery life is good - I can usually get through a full day unless I am stuck in line somewhere browsing the web or playing games nonstop. I rarely have dropped calls; it's getting them in the first place that's usually a problem for me, but I attribute that to location more than anything else. No one gets good reception where I live.

A very high quality phone, and one that still feels fast and powerful more than 15 months after its release and following its successor's introduction.
