The phone is beautiful! The screen is best in class. The appstore has the most and best apps. Battery life is the best of all smartphones. iOS is a super fast, smooth, polished and attractive OS. It is oozing in high build quality. It is a 10! Except for the fact it does have some flaws.

It has metal volume buttons, mute switch, and sleep switch. The home button on the front of the phone will take a pounding and still keep ticking for many many months. It has a glass front and glass back. It makes the phone stunning and beautiful to look at. It has a metal frame that goes around the perimeter of the phone and it doubles as it's antenna. Brilliant design. Great build quality.

It's beautiful and wonderfully designed. But it is that design inadvertently produces it's two biggest flaws. Glass is prone to breaking when dropped. This is just a fact of all modern smartphones with their large capacity touch screens. Problem is the iPhone has a glass back in addition to it's glass front. So it has two places where it could break. The other flaw is the infamous antenna-gate problems. Yes, it is real and it does cause interference and hurt reception. I use a case on my iPhone so this is not a problem for me. This issue has been fixed in iPhone 4s. The screen is 3.5 inches. Some people might consider this too small.

This phone is not perfect. It is however the best phone in the market when it was released in 2010, and it is only bested by the iPhone 4S in 2011.
