The Lumia 800 is the best Windows Phone out there right now. While some might criticise the lack of a front facing camera, gyroscope and smaller screen when compared to the HTC Titan - the Lumia's overall package, look and feel is distinct and different when compared to anything else out there.
Having used iOS and Android devices before (in fact, I still use an iPad on a regular basis) I enjoy using Windows Phone 7.5 more than either of those platforms - it's more focused and integrated than either platform and is very fast. Livetiles are a killer feature too, and more and more apps are finding creative uses for them too. Yes, both iOS and Android have more apps available to the end user - the focus and integration of Windows Phone means that I'm not missing much. Spotify and WhatsApp are fantastic on this platform, and the Facebook and Twitter integration is brilliant.
Yes, Windows Phone isn't for everyone - if you're already fully comitted to an ecosystem, like iOS or Android it can be hard to make the jump as it truly is quite a different experience, but as an end user it is one I enjoy a lot more. If like me, you have an iPad - you won't miss any of the apps you get on that platform either, and you'll get the best of both worlds.
Back to the phone, the Lumia is the best crafted device - the design is not only striking, but also very practical, with the gorilla glass screen and polycarbonate body that keeps it looking new without the need for a bulky case. I haven't had any complaints with battery life - which already seems to have improved after the last update.
Both the Lumia and Titan are great phones, and if you're on the fence about either device I recommend you try both in person - they meet the needs of two different users and I'm sure one will win you over.
