Palm Pre (CDMA)

The phone that generated much hype when announced at CES and introduced a truly intuitive and innovative OS navigation. Unfortunately the Pre shipped with woefully underpowered CPU and a massive failed marketing strategy. While the device is still useable after 2.5 years - It's only thanks to overclocking to twice the as-shipped settings. App support never truly arrived - and hardware issues off the bat hindered a lot of potential momentum. The Pre and webOS is truly an example of how a homebrew community can keep a product alive and kicking - for without them this product would have died off as another flop without much hoopla. It's not going to be a massive contender, but the recent open-sourcing of the entire OS leaves a speculative future for the OS that was launched with this device, and if the past is any indication - chances are good it'll be the little OS that could.
