This laptop is fantastic and although my score on some points seem low, those are really overshadowed by all that it does well. As with many other windows laptops, the configuration you chose can lead to a dramatically different product. My model has a core i5 2.4 GHz processor, the standard 1366x768 display, and lacks a solid state drive. I've heard that the upgraded display, the radiant display with the envy line are some of the nicest displays on a laptop, and with a solid state drive the performance would definitely see a vast improvement.

The heat/noise section is a bit difficult for me to rate, but I did my best, I say this because the heat when using intel's integrated graphics card is very low (I can't feel the radiation burning my groin!), but once that Radeon chip starts powering through Skyrim, you may just take an arrow to the knee. Also...my fan is broken right now....so...it doesn't make any noise...I guess that's good?

One last point about my software score, love windows, but more than a year after buying this laptop I still find myself tweaking the interface regularly to make it look as nice as possible. Windows 8 will address that problem easily enough, I quite like Metro.
