HTC Rezound
Reviewed by CMG90 (Currently owns)
I recently switched to Verizon after being on sprint for little over a year and i have to say I glad I did. My main reason was for faster data speeds but I wanted a HTC phone since I've been hooked on them since owning the EVO. I picked up the rezound and I have to say it may be one of the best phones I've ever owned.
The screen is great. Not as great as Samsung's OMLED, but it will do. Sense 3.5 really makes pre ICS useful and its good to know that this phone will be getting ICS in early 2012. i'm just dreaming here but maybe they will (should) include a toggle to disable or turn off sense and go to stock ICS. Like I said, a guy could dream.
I've had the phone for over a month now and so far its exceeded my expentions. I havn;t experienced any lag or restarts. Battery life is my only gripe. With HTC's move to focus on quality rather then quantity in 2012 hopefully that means battery life will improve for 2012 and later handsets.
I did though have to bump the software down to a "7" for the verizon bloatware. You can not uninstall it and you can disable it all you want in ICS, its still there taking up space. Come on Verizon, let us remove your crap. Also the pre-installed verizon bookmarks are un-removable. You can, however remove those placed in by HTC, but you can not remove the Verizon ones. Now I could root my device and get rid of them all for once but why should I have to go though all that work for something so simple, the carrier should do it?
The cameras are pretty good. On par of what was found on my EVO 4G. I had crappy photos on my EVO 3D so returning to a phone with a better camera system is a plus. I love how HTC added bunch of filters and modes like HDR and panorama mode. There is almost no need for a 3rd party app anymore, though I'm still waiting on insgram for Android.
Over all if you are in the market for a new smartphone on Verizon, i'd give the Rezound a shot.
