Good sci-fi short stories from 2011?
Hey, looking for some good casual reading over the holiday. I combed through this great thread on new sci-fi fiction, but I don't think I'm ready to take on a big book right now.
I have a small collection of pulp sci-fi mags from the 1960s / 1970s that I've already devoured, has me wanting something similar for the here and now.
This is the best recent short fiction I've read: The Lifecycle of Software Objects. Really loved what it explored, even if the writing isn't top notch.
One of my pulp mags actually had a 1980 sci-fi / horror novella by George R. R. Martin, called Nightflyers. A ton of fun. I need to get this collection.
Anyway, whaddya got?
