We're rapidly approaching the time when your gifts won't make it in time for Christmas. Instead of braving the crowds at your local mall, EA, Gameloft, Sega, and Steam are hoping you'll choose to give a digital gift this year. Steam's selling Batman: Arkham City for $24.99 (50 percent off), and the other companies are offering a multitude of iPhone, iPad, and (a few) Android titles at pretty steep discounts. EA is offering most of its iOS games for 99 cents, including Dead Space, FIFA 12, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Spore: Origins, as well as six games for Android at a fair discount, including Plants vs. Zombies, Need for Speed Shift, and Peggle. Gameloft has 17 iOS titles for 99 cents, headlined by N.O.V.A. 2 and Assassin's Creed - Altaïr's Chronicles. Lastly, Sega is discounting 18 iOS games down to 99 cents, including plenty of Sonic and Super Monkey Ball titles. Android users may feel they're getting the short shrift here, but at least they can think fondly of last week's "10 Billion Promo" 10-cent app sale.
