Apple iPad 2 (Wi-Fi + 3G)
Reviewed by Jesse Coleman (Currently owns)
I have had and iPad 2 since the beginning of June, and overall, I love it. However, I do have complaints. Below is my explanation for the ratings I chose:
Design: Very sleek design, feels nice and solid, but it's a bit heavy for use when laying down. The smart cover is fantastic.
Display: The display is very nice, but I wish it were sharper. I'm tired of seeing pixels on my screens.
Camera's: Straight up terrible, but then again, when would I ever use them? I can see cameras being useful on a tablet as inputs for software (like augmented reality, scanning, etc.) and video chat, but I would never use it just to take a photo or video.
Speakers: They get the job done. Sometimes they seem a bit soft when I'm watching Netflix.
Performance: Wonderful. Nearly everything is fast and responsive. Certain 3rd party apps seem to have their problems, but that's not necessarily the iPad's fault.
Software: Mostly very nice, but frustratingly limited. File management is a complete nightmare, and is the one thing holding back my iPad from being a computer replacement. Case in point: when I have a document in Pages that I want to open in iBooks, I have to email the document to myself from Pages, go to my inbox, and then open the attachment from my email in iBooks.
Battery Life: Very good
Ecosystem: Fantastic! So many apps!
Dock: Don't have one, don't know.
