Photojournalism: What gear?

Hi Guys!

I am on a photojournalism jount around South Asia for an NGO. Wanted to share what I brought, and ask you guys what you would bring!

Camera:

  • Canon EOS 7D (last time, I brought my father's 5D mk 1, but needed to do interviews this time)

Lenses:

  • Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L
  • Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L
  • Tamron 90mm macro

Other:

  • KIRF mic (any suggestions for a decent mic for interviews?)
  • waterproof sachels from Mountain Designs to keep monsoon out.
My flash (especially with the 16-35) is leaving shadows all over the shop ... and I'd be interested in using a reflector or other natural light techniques - any suggestions?
Doing all my post in Aperture on my Macbook Air (of course, with an external drive :) ) ... what do you recommend I edit the video on?
