This device exceeded my expectations. I first heard rumors of a new Nexus device from BGR several months ago. Having previously been underwhelmed by Google's decision to go with Samsung for the Nexus S, I was less than enthused when more and more rumors suggested Samsung would manufacture this years Nexus device as well. After purchasing the Galaxy Nexus from Handtec, I immediately fell in love with the hardware.
One thing I was really impressed with is the pentaband GSM radio. I was envious of the iPhone 4S when Apple announced this capability and then relieved when Samsung/Google announced it for the Galaxy Nexus.
The camera is really good in my opinion. I recorded some video samples and the audio and video quality is simply amazing for a mobile phone. It's not quite as good as the iPhone 4S' camera, but it is significantly better than the previous Nexus devices (Nexus One, Nexus S) while still having the same megapixel count.
The software is what's most amazing about the Galaxy Nexus. I already knew what to expect from Android 4.0 from running an early build on my Nexus S, but the experience on the Galaxy Nexus is a lot better. There are issues, of course, but I expected that from a developer phone.
