Hyperkin's SupaBoy handheld Super NES console now available
Keeping that old box of Super Nintendo cartridges in the garage is looking like a good decision, as accessories manufacturer Hyperkin has just begun shipping the SupaBoy, a handheld SNES console that lets you play classics like Super Metroid whenever you're on the go. Originally announced back at E3, the SupaBoy uses full-size SNES and Super Famicom cartridges, and provides the familiar controller layout for gaming on its 3.5-inch screen.
Weighing in at 11.5 ounces, the device won't net you a lot of playing time — battery life is estimated at just 2.5 hours — but when the power does run dry you can plug it into the wall and hook it up to your TV, where it will act as a full-fledged Super NES console. It even features connectors for two SNES controllers, should you have some lying around, for some old-school two-player gaming. Hyperkin will be happy to sell you replica controllers as well, of course. The handheld is available now for $79.99 at Amazon, so if you'd like to relive those Super Mario Kart memories, check out the source link below.
