Is The Verge Supported by Apple? Part 2: Proofs
Let me start off by saying thank you. My first article became the most popular and read article of any other articles here on The Verge forums. Yep, surpassing those of Patel and his gang. I was politely asked to post a second part of the infamous but insanely popular article by an anonymous editor of this website. Many of you left comments saying that I was off base and even called me troll, but that`s okay for me, I don`t give a f*ck about it. Many of you had concerns and questions that were unanswered on my first article, a few people even asked me to read the ethic statement page. Congrats to those of you who read the ethics statement page, I hope you get a job soon. But, anyways, this sequel will resolve most of your doubts, and again I reaffirm my position on this matter.
I gave the subtitle "proofs" to this article because all I have are concrete proofs to support my theory of "this website is heavily endorsed by Apple," that hurt more than one iFanboy. Please don`t be offended since this is just my honest opinion and point of view of the matter. I don`t intend to cause you any kind of emotional pain.
Let`s take a look at this screenshot with some hypocrisy removed from the image taken directly from this website.
This is just a small portion of the website where 4 Apple products are on display including Josh`s iPhone and one accessory made especially for iDevices (Sonos Play3.) And by the way, they are organized in a carousel style a la Apple store. If you take a look closely, you will notice that the Apple products are given 9 and the lowest is 8.8 because it is a low-end model of that device. Take note, no other product has been awarded a 9 on this website, except for Apple products.
Many people left comments saying that The Verge does not have Apple ads. As a company, you cannot ask for a better advertising campaign than this: products always on display with the "highest rated" tag on the middle of the website. Advertising is more than a small banner on a corner of a website for the morons that were complaining about my arguments because they`ve never seen an Apple as banner here. Advice: if you can see something, don`t ask for what it is. This is le creme of Apple promotions. Perhaps, they pay more money for this than what they pay for the T.V commercials.
A Good Smartphone Comes Once a Year, Really?
The article that went beyond Apple fanboyism was tittled, "A good smartphone comes but once a year." I really don`t know where to start with this. I have no idea of how this article was approved by the editorial, neither. For the record, the only smartphone that is released annually is the iPhone. According to my judgement system this goes like this: crap-bad-good-great-excellent. Therefore, any phone that is not released on a year basis is bad or crap according to the author. I won`t mention his name because it`s not necessary, maybe he was asked to write an article to tell people the only smartphone they should buy is the iPhone. Or probably, the author heard the news that macrumors and other dedicated Apple sites pay more than any other tech websites because they are openly supported by Apple, and tried to attract attention from them. Anyway, let`s take a look at the image shown below.
I thought it only existed in movies and comics where one character is able to defeat an army alone. The iPhone is the John Rambo of the smartphones. It clearly proposes this phone as the ultimate phone without competition. The author did not get satisfied by saying the iPhone is the only good or best smartphone of the planet; he went ahead a made a chart and put the iPhone on one side and on the other side the entire HTC lineup of smartphones. For those of you who don`t know, HTC makes the best android headsets available on the market because they don`t feel cheap and get updates frequently unlike Samsung, which is the Android most popular OEM. In the first place, this article should have never gone live because it`s extremely biased to Apple and the Verge is not supposed to be biased because it covers tech in general from different brands. Yet, with articles like these, some of you still ague the contrary saying that The Verge is not supported by Apple.
I don`t want to continue digging more into this topic in this paper. I could write a book full of proofs to validate my point. However, I took two of the most visible Apple campaigns on the Verge and explained them to you. It gives you visual proofs, not just words. Besides, I do not have much time to write about this. I did not include the articles called "what`s is the bag," where the authors showcase they Apple products, and discriminate other products saying that they are in their bag just for the sake of reviewing them. Not to mention the five minutes that were used in the last Verge show in a segment called how to love Windows again or something similar, and other thousands of quotes that I could use to validate the fact that the Verge is supported by Apple.
Again, I want to ask your opinion on the matter and let others know what your thoughts are. One more thing, this is not a trolling contest, so stop trolling that no one is gonna give a prize.
UPDATE: For those people that were saying that Josh does not have an iPhone, check out his Twitter account, here is one quote for your baseless ignorance, "So my iMessage problem finally fixed itself. Apparently there is a cache period when you turn off the device (iPhone 4S). Now redirecting to SMS."
