Google’s efforts (and failures) at going social have been well publicized and now we have a new one to add to the list: Google Propeller. A socially-aware news reader app, it’s said to be in development for both Android devices and the iPad, and will be doing battle with the likes of Flipboard and Pulse, which already offer personalized news feeds to tablet users. This information comes from Robert Scoble, whose contacts within Google claim Propeller is already at a stage where it can be described as "mind-blowing," and has been reaffirmed by further insider sources over at All Things D. If development is indeed that far advanced, we shouldn’t have to wait too long to see what Google’s spinning up in its labs.
