LG may be cutting 30 percent of its mobile staff outside of Korea, according to a report in the Korea Economic Daily. The cuts will apparently involve marketing and purchasing resources and may also happen within Korea itself. LG did not comment, but the company has suffered during a period of fierce competition with Samsung. Although LG has launched Android smartphones like the Optimus One and Thrill 4G on US carriers this year, none of its devices have attracted the same level of attention as Samsung's Galaxy S series of phones.
