PlayBook Updates, BBOS 7.1

From the info I've read and watched at different tech sites, I have to say I'm impressed with what RIM has done to the PlayBook. Yeah, it should have been out last year and yeah, it may not make the February deadline, but you know what?...as a fan of RIM's products I can say better late than never. It's the little things that are the big things to me...native email, calendar, contacts. I love how it all integrates together. If I open an email on my Bold 9930 and then the PlayBook, it will show that it's read and not push as a new email. Simple stuff that personally works for ME. I'm still looking at the new features but wanted to at least get a discussion going as it really seems no one cares around here(but I get it, I really do).

Glad to see we are finally getting some of the most popular games that are on the other platforms(Angry Birds Plants vs Zombies, Cut the Rope). I know it's late, but at least it's here. I haven't read anything new about the android player and if it's actually going to make the 2.0 update on time, if at all. I still have plenty of searching to do.

I downloaded the new 7.1 on my Bold 9930 this morning...4 hours later it was all set. It has the mobile hotspot which is nice, but will only use if I go on a long trip with the kids so they can use their iPods. I still have the BB Bridge and Tether for my PlayBook and Laptop, which I won't have to pay for. Seriously though, the fact that I can use my tablet without paying for an additional data package is amazing and is the main reason I bought the playbook. I know it can be clunky and it's far from perfect, but it suits my needs. I save a ton of money by not having to pay that extra fee. How is this not a big deal to others? I'm still looking at the 7.1 updates and can't wait to mess around with the NFC feature sharing info, files etc. It's really not a huge deal but it's a start of some cool things to come. Again, I just started looking at it, so I don't have much to comment on.

Thoughts?
