SOPA BLACKOUT

Hello fellow Vergians, Vergites ... members of The Verge. As many of you are aware the US government is forming legislation that has the capability to change the internet as we know it. If you aren't aware please read http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/22/2648219/stop-online-piracy-act-sopa-what-is-it Whether or not you you agree with SOPAs goals I think we can all agree that Congress is going to FUBAR it.

In an attempt to the attention of the media Reddit is having a blackout of their site on January 18th.

I would like the Verge to do the same. I know it won't get the same media attention as Reddit and I know most members of the Verge already are aware of SOPA. But what I hope is other websites follow suit and people wake up to what the government is trying to do.
