Amazon's new UltraViolet deal: UV rights to be included in purchases from one unnamed studio
Amazon's partnership with UltraViolet was announced yesterday, and now we have a little more detail on the deal: Amazon will be including UltraViolet rights with purchases from one unnamed studio. There's currently no details regarding which studio is involved and when this will roll out, but CNET is claiming that studio will be Warner Bros. Representatives from the studio reportedly declined to comment and Amazon didn't respond to CNET's interview request. It's also unknown exactly how this system will be deployed; it seems safe to presume that buying digital movies from Amazon will include UV rights, but it's possible that rights could come with disc-based purchases as well. We're reaching out to Amazon as well and will let you know if we hear anything.
