Planning an online gaming session? We have some bad news for you; the PlayStation Network is due to go offline today from 11AM to midnight ET. Sony announced the outage on its PlayStation Blog, which will affect login, the PS Store, and account management, as well as its Music and Video Unlimited services. If you log in to the network before the maintenance is scheduled to begin, you should still be able to play online, although it's likely you wont find too many users around to game with.

Sony cites the reason for downtime as "routine scheduled maintenance," which is a fairly regular occurrence, so don't expect any major changes in exchange for lost gaming time. You can check the original blog post below for the complete list of affected services.
