Samsung Monitor and MacBook Pro... resolution problems, HELP
I'm not sure if I should have posted this on the Mac forum or not but I hope to find some help on here...
I bought a Samsung Monitor for my girlfriend who owns a Mac Book Pro because she always mentioned how it would be great to be able to see her stuff on a bigger screen when working on it for long hours...
I was kind of hesitant to get her a non Apple product at first but it's not like I could afford an Apple monitor anyways..
So I got her a beautiful LED 1080p samsung Monitor (model: S23A550H).... I asked the sales rep if it were compatible with a Mac and he just told me to get the HDMI mini port and that it should work that way...
It does work BUT, when in mirroring mode, the resolution on the Sammy monitor looks pretty bad... I tried to tweak the resolutions but it seems the MacBook doesn't support the res that the monitor comes with... 1920 x 1080...
Could it be that the MBP needs an update that would add more available resolutions in the Settings?
Is there a way to maybe add a custom resolution to the MBP with a specific software like SwitchResX for example?
Is there a simple (or even not so simple) solution to this problem anyone would want to share with me?
The monitor is just sitting there, turned off, and I would love to be able to finally get it to work properly....if at all possible
