One of PayPal's partners in its foray into point-of-sale transactions has been leaked. All Things D reports that an analyst speculated that Home Depot would be one of the stores where the service would be trialled, and PayPal has just confirmed that it is indeed working with the big-box hardware retailer. It turns out that the service has been in trial since December and involves five stores and "a small number of PayPal employees."

Unlike the PayPal trial in Sweden, this does not use NFC technology. The employees in the pilot program can make purchases using a PayPal credit card or by typing in their phone number at checkout, and funds are taken directly out of their PayPal account. No other retail partners have been announced, but we'll let you know when we hear more.
