Have you been looking for a cost-effective way to fill up your new iPad or iPhone 4S with music and apps? Best Buy has you covered, offering 20 percent off iTunes gift cards when purchased online. The cards are available in $15, $25, $50, and $100 denominations, but you'll be taking them home from between $12 to $80 — and digital delivery means no shipping costs, either. The cards are good for any purchases made through iTunes, including Apple TV movie and TV rentals; they won't work in your local Apple Store, unfortunately. It's not clear how long the sale will be going on, but these discounts can vanish as quickly as they appear, so we suggest you act quickly!

I know! How does this work in favor of Best Buy??

It’s a marketing expense.
With “deals” like these they get press and get a bunch of new people to sign up for Best Buy Online accounts, giving them names, addresses, email addresses, and credit card information.
Think about it. $20 off a $100 card (which might even be their margin) is cheap for a new customer. $5 off $25 is a steal.

I see. I wonder what their margin is on these cards.

Technically, no. You can’t get cash back in exchange for those cards.

How strange, but a nice way to get 20% off iTunes stuff. Grabbed a code, arrived in 5 minutes. Now to find some new music to buy.

Very nice! Wish they worked in the Mac app store… got a new MBA coming and would love to get iWork and such for cheap.
I shall buy one of these now!

These will work in the Mac App Store. The App Store uses your Apple ID balance just like anything from iTunes.

Hate the fact that they don’t have this in Canada. Gotta go to the store to get the damn plastic.

But at least Future Shop and Best Buy have had some pretty good deals on the cards lately. I got a $50 card for $39. And I think they had the 3-pack of $20 cards (so $60) on sale for $45 for a while.

This is a good deal — got one of the 25 dollar ones.

If I hadn’t bought 3 $50 cards for $120 last month, I would definitely take advantage of this.

Unlike the Wal*Mart deal from a few weeks, I actually got the codes this time.

re: using iTunes gift cards in the Apple Store… If you have the Apple Store application on your iPhone, you can actually use it to scan in and purchase goods in the Apple Store using your Apple Store account, effectively getting the 20% discount off of all Apple goods. I think…
