Ubuntu bringing smart TV concept, more 'consumer' products to CES 2012
Ubuntu was teasing an "exclusive Ubuntu concept design" the other day, and now thanks to a BBC piece, we know the shocking truth: it's a TV. We're not sure what difference Ubuntu could make in the rapidly-crowding, insanely-fragmented connected TV market — especially at this year's CES, where the category is mushrooming. Still, we're willing to find out. Ubuntu won't just have the TV on the show floor, but its own laptops running Ubuntu as well. "We are launching some new products with a greater emphasis on consumer devices and CES is frankly the place to do that," Jane Silber, Canonical's CEO, told the BBC.
