We had a feeling that AT&T would be one of Sony's carrier partners for the new flagship Xperia T, and now it's official. AT&T today announced that it plans to carry the high-end Xperia — now rebranded the TL — though the company isn't offering any details on a potential release timeframe or pricing. Aside from the new moniker, this is essentially the same device that we saw back at IFA. The TL features a 720p 4.6-inch HD Reality Display utilizing Sony's proprietary Bravia engine, though AT&T is placing particular emphasis on the handset's 13-megapixel rear camera.

The carrier highlights both the TL's ability to wake from standby mode and snap a picture in just 1.5 seconds along with its 1080p video recording capabilities. The Xperia TL will ship with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) when it hits the market, but AT&T pledges that it will be upgraded to Jelly Bean sometime thereafter. Sony is also using the opportunity for some cross promotion, touting the TL's appearance in the upcoming James Bond film Skyfall. We've reached out to the carrier for more information as to when you can expect the Xperia TL on shelves.
