Editing in a post PC era
Recently I've been considering dumping my behemoth of a PC in favour of something smaller.
I was wondering what the general consensus is for switching to a laptop as my main editing tool? I've been shooting seriously since 2007 and consider myself a "prosumer" with a pretty decent understanding of a post workflow, which is also my main concern. Its mostly storage (sorted with external drives), speed (sure this would be ok on the latest MBP) and colour temperature/monitor calibration/angle of screen/lighting conditions etc.
Its a bottomless pit that leaves me thinking I'll still need some kind of external monitor to ensure my photos have some consistency across various screens/printing, but the entire reason I'm considering this change is to get rid of the dedicated desk I have at the moment.
