NY Times blasts Blackberry, BB fans blow up comments section

I know we give Blackberry a lot of ribbing around here; their market share has collapsed in the past 3 years. Bouncing around a few tech sites, it seems to be a consensus that RIM is dead.
Enter the NY Times... whose demographic are probably a majority of older business types... aka Blackberry diehards.
It's strange to see so many people chime in and praise their BB devices, but it also made me wonder if I take my ribbing a little too far sometimes. Yeah, I can start a torrent on my home computer via my phone, record my runs in My Tracks, and play a few Zynga games with friends... but it's all just unnecessary when you think about it. And I probably shouldn't make fun of someone for not wanting all the extra goodies. I drive a cheap 2000 Honda Civic, should I be ridiculed for not having automatic locks/windows? My car gets me from A-to-B. Just because my car doesn't have Bluetooth, apps, or a hard drive in it doesn't make it any less useful as a car.
I dunno, kinda opened my eyes to maybe relax a little on BB users. They're happy with their choice of smartphone, and we should let them be... all 5% of them.
