What games will YOU play this holiday season?
Traditionally, the holiday season is a huge time for game releases, and this year is no different. We have some super great releases that have already hit the shelves and will continue to as the weeks go on. So, I was wondering, what games will you be playing this season?
I am primarily wondering because I'm never sure if my tastes ever line up with a majority of other gamers (not that I want them to). I've always enjoyed a broad style of games, but only a select few games ever really catch me enough to keep me for the whole game, and any subsequent sequel. And, well, these sorts of threads always spark some really great discussion and that's tons of fun.
So, the four games that I will be playing over the next few months are as follows.
- Guild Wars 2 - I just bought this today after finding an amazing deal, and being convinced that the PvP was super fun. Looking forward to playing this after my classes today. And let's be honest, I'll be playing this game for years, not just during this holiday season.
- Assassin's Creed III - I love history, and when I heard that AC was coming to Revolutionary America, I was actually really skeptical. I waited and waited and watched a bunch of trailers and gameplay and dev talks and I have been convinced that this is that game for me. I love stealth games (shout out to Arkham City), and it also helps that I super love the American Revolution as a period of history.
- LEGO Lord of the Rings - I have a soft spot for LEGO games. It also helps that this one of LotR themed, basically the only true classic fantasy epic, as far as I'm concerned.
- Guardians of Middle Earth - This game hasn't been getting much attention from what I can tell, but I am super stoked about it. For this who don't know, this is a LotR themed (I love my LotR) MOBA, but on consoles. It's a PS3/360 release sometime in December. Like I said, it's a full MOBA experience exclusive to consoles, and will launch with a bunch of characters from the LotR lore, both from the movies and the books. It will have more content in it's future. It's looking very promising right now.
