Hopefully this benign bit of news will help you towards reaching enlightenment.

1: "Land of memes and trolls: The epic and ridiculous self-aware world of 'Homestuck'" by John Funk

"A boy stands in his room. Today is his birthday, and as fate would have it, also the day he embarks on a grand adventure. But before we can get started, please input his name in the provided text box.

This scenario could be the beginning of any number of games. Minus the insert-name-here text box, it could be the beginning of any number of stories. In this case, it's the beginning of Homestuck, the most recent and currently ongoing webcomic collected in MS Paint Adventures. Since its beginning in April of 2009, Homestuck has exploded to become one of the most ubiquitous — and devoted — fandoms on the internet."

2: "'ZombiU' was a very different game when it was called 'Killer Freaks from Outer Space'" by Samit Sarkar

"The game that became ZombiU was originally announced at E3 2011 as Killer Freaks from Outer Space, and according to ZombiU's developers at Ubisoft in an interview with El33tonline, the previous title resembled a twitchy first-person shooter much more than the game that will launch with the Wii U this fall.

Killer Freaks was "very fast-paced and action-based," with a cooperative and competitive experience that "worked but was not very satisfying," said associate producer Nicolas Robin. According to lead content designer Mounir Radi, the setup gave players individual goals to compete on, as well as a common objective to collaborate on. Radi added that the developers discovered during the prototyping process that people playing a fast-paced FPS simply didn't bother to look at both the TV and the Wii U GamePad; instead, they focused solely on the tablet controller in their hands."

3: "'Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut' headed to PlayStation 3 in early 2013" by Dave Tach

"Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut, an HD remake of the 2010 open world survival horror game, is coming to PlayStation 3 in Q1 2013, publisher Rising Star Games announced today.

Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro, director of Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut, will bring HD graphics, updated controls including Move functionality, and new content to the game, which will launch between January 1st and March 31st, 2013. The Director's Cut will offer downloadable content to expand the original game, which gained cult status with its bizarre characters and scenarios."

4: "'Guild Wars 2' writer disappointed in game's players heavily favoring Human race" by Griffin McElroy

"A large majority of Guild Wars 2 players created Human characters instead of one of the game's four other, far more fantastical races, and one of the game's writers took to Twitter last night to voice his disappointment in the disparity.

As seen in the lower-left graph in the infographic above — which, from left to right, shows the breakdown for the Norn, Charr, Asura, Sylvari, and Human races — the Humans have more than double the population of just about all of the game's other inhabitants."

5: "Microsoft announces Xbox 360 holiday bundles and confirms $50 discounts" by Dave Tach

"Microsoft is offering three new Xbox 360 bundles and $50 discounts on select non-bundled consoles for the upcoming holiday season, according to Major Nelson.

Each Xbox 360 bundle includes hardware, games, and a monthlong Gold membership to Xbox Live. The three bundles, which are available at North American retailers including Best Buy, GameStop, Amazon, and Target, also include a free month of the Hulu Plus and Epix streaming services."

FROM THE POLYNAUTS FORUMS:

1: "Why did you buy THAT console?" by Nightshift Nurse

""What got you into gaming?"

I see this question asked a lot. And true, it makes for fun, light discussion and occasionally (but not often) surprising answers.

A question I rarely see asked, is "what prompted your purchase of console X?" It is - I feel - the more interesting question, as the answer isn't largely reliant on what a parent purchased or what happened to be available when you were ten. Now this doesn't have to be systems you purchased yourself, mind you - gifts are fair game."

2: "What games will YOU play this holiday season?" by steve19137

"Traditionally, the holiday season is a huge time for game releases, and this year is no different. We have some super great releases that have already hit the shelves and will continue to as the weeks go on. So, I was wondering, what games will you be playing this season?"

3: "A Polynaut Plays: Demon's Souls 4-1" by PaddyStardust

"Hey everyone! I thought I would try and record my efforts at getting past some of stage 4-1 of Demon's Souls. This area contains many hazards, including a red-eyed dual katana skeleton man, and a giant fat axe wielding sod. Watch along, as I keep pushing through this awfully hard game!"

Every day there will only be one comment from the previous thread. It's decided based upon the most recommends an individual receives for their comment; should two people have the same rating then both comments will be posted.

Okay, there we have another day's worth of catch-ups folks. Remember to sound off in the comments below and share any awesome news you find today.
