Am i missing something? (iPad Mini topic vol: 59^10)

so instead of waiting to have all my questions answered on monday i'm just gonna make another ipad mini topic like the rest of apple core…

I keep asking myself; am i missing something? the big question about the ipad mini is that at the $249-$299 price point for 16gb is gonna be taking potential sales away from the newly introduced ipod touch. no matter what topic states these price points as a possibility, someone always brings that up.

isnt it obvious to anyone else besides me that the target consumer for these products (ipad mini/ipod touch) are not the same? the ipod touch no longer has a 16gb option if you want the gen5, keep that in mind. now, heres what apples gonna do; Market the ipod touch towards the gamers and people that would benefit from the huge music library and app collection. this means the people more likely to get the ipod touch are YOUNGER KIDS/TEENAGERS whose parents dont want to pay 30some bucks a month for a data plan but dont want to put up with the constant complaining. boom done. now for the ipad mini, itll be "perfect for reading books on the go" and "checking your favorite news websites during your busy life". according to apple (im predicting this so dont ask for sources). now does this sound like something that would interest a teenager? i mean, BOOKS?BUSY? no chance. thats right, now youre getting it. the ipad mini is gonna be marketed as the perfect companion for the iphone. and are those adults with their own iphones gonna find any use for an ipod touch? nope.

so there, stop bringing up that the price point is gonna cause a conflict of sales, its a moot point. come release day no one is gonna be on the fence about which product better suits their needs. they are different devices for different people that want very different things.

that is of course if im not missing something…
